Frequently Asked Questions
-
My work is trauma-informed and grounded in a relational psychodynamic process, incorporating attachment theory, neuroscience, somatic, and experiential therapies. We’ll resolve issues at the root, beyond managing symptoms.
We’ll unpack relational and attachment wounds - the kinds shaped in families, reinforced in partnership, and upheld by the systems we move through.
We look at how your experiences have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. Together, we identify patterns with care and curiosity, loosening what no longer serves you and strengthening what does, at a pace that respects your readiness - without pressure to fix, analyze, or push past what isn’t yet accessible.

Start by reaching out to me, either by email, through my contact form here (or schedule a consultation now). We’ll find a time to meet for an initial consult call (about 20 minutes). During this conversation, you’ll have the opportunity to share more about what you’re looking for and to ask me questions. I’ll share more about how I work, and we’ll mutually decide if this feels like a good fit.
If we decide to move forward, we’ll find a time for an initial session and I’ll send you my practice documents to review and sign before our first meeting.

At this time, I hold sessions virtually. I am licensed in California, thus able to work with any resident of California. We will meet at a recurring time that is reserved for you. Weekly sessions offer the consistency that facilitates deeper healing work. Sometimes it can make sense to shift to biweekly maintenance sessions after you’ve achieved the desired outcomes that brought you to therapy.

$250 per 50 minute session.
Please inquire about sliding scale. I hold space in my practice for lower fees to make therapy accessible. Please see the FAQ regarding insurance.
I base sliding scale conversations on the Green Bottle model for sliding scale, and I invite those who are in a place of financial privilege to pay higher on the scale to support my ability to offer lower rates to others.

In my private practice, I accept private pay, and if your insurance allows you to seek reimbursement for sessions, I can provide you superbills by request (which makes me an out of network provider).
I work with a 3rd party that gets my clients better “out-of-network” rates and you have the option of only paying your out of pocket costs up front! Note that if you request a superbill, this will require a diagnosis.
-
If you need to cancel an appointment, I request 48 hours advance notice by email and text. I try my best to find you another time in the week, and I exclude emergencies. Otherwise, your session fee is charged. Likewise, no shows are charged your session fee. (Current clients, please review your signed Informed Consent form for details.)

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service, or at any time during treatment.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, or how to dispute a bill, see your Estimate, or visit https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
